We were sad to leave Yosemite after just a day, but I was super excited about our short stop in San Francisco and seeing old friends. The Intuit team attended a marketing conference in Los Angeles and have since migrated to San Francisco for the weekend so we were meeting up for dinner and drinks.
But first, we had to register for the Alcatraz triathlon and pick up our T-shirts and goody bag. The seas in San Francisco Bay were pretty choppy as we walked over and we were both secretly pleased we weren’t jumping in those icy waters tomorrow! At the same time, we were quite sad not to share in the excitement. There is nothing quite like the excitement and anticipation among hundreds of athletes gathered together before a race; everyone checking bags, buying last-minute energy bars and seeing the finish line ready for you to cross it the following day.
It was great to finally see old friends and catch up on the last few months. Unsurprisingly, a quick drink after dinner turned into a 1am uber ride back to the hotel, so it was a good thing we weren’t racing!
