We were both very excited about our next destination: Cape Town!! After a short stop in London, we were on our way to South Africa for 10 days before our Namibian adventure. May is a tricky month in Cape Town and, depending on your luck, the weather can be either very nice or really crappy! We were lucky… it was wonderful! The days were mild, but the sun was shining and the wine was flowing.
No matter how many times we have landed at Cape Town International Airport, every single time I get goose bumps from excitement about seeing my family and this wonderful part of our country. It will always be home.
Today was extra special as it was my nephew’s fifth birthday party and the first one I am able to attend. It was fun, but also crazy to be surrounded by 12 screaming kids below the age of five, who had too much sweets, cake and red party cold drink.
Cape Town was a mix of birthday parties, braais with the family, doing nothing (very successfully), drinking wine, swimming (less successfully), watching gorgeous sunsets, eating lazy breakfast and just enjoying the beautiful place that is Cape Town. It was hard to leave, but at least we had an exciting adventure ahead of us.
